Located in Avenida León, one of downtown Riobamba’s main thoroughfares and its dynamic entertainment hub, Rayuela protrudes onto the street, its beautiful terrace allowing guests to see Riobamba life up close.
The idea for the venue came to Maria del Carmen and Carolina Baez in 2008, almost by accident, as they resolved to start their own business. Without any experience, but a clear vision of what they wished to achieve, their passion for working with people and their hospitable natures, they were able to make an empty lot into a warm, pleasant, relaxed, modern and friendly place for people to hang out in their hometown. When it opened it looked and felt like nothing else in the city.
They got advice from excellent culinary consultants, deciding to go for North American-style cooking, and created an exciting menu, with mouth-watering wings and BBQ ribs — the best in town —burgers and fantastic steaks. But it doesn’t stop at the food: delicious Mexican micheladas and perfect martinis ensure Rayuela is a great place to enjoy a drink, too. Sharing the “Rayuela Mix” with friends while enjoying live music on Friday nights, topped off with unmissable homemade desserts, makes Rayuela one of Riobamba’s best night spots.
