Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport constantly strives to provide the best service with the finest facilities while improving air connectivity, allowing passengers to feel more and more connected with the world. This effort is not taken for granted by the international aerospace and travel industry, which have once again rewarded the airport team’s hard work and commitment with recognitions.

This time around, Quiport was awarded three Skytrax awards, the most prestigious awards in the global airport industry; and two Air Cargo Excellence Awards, delivered by Air Cargo World, the air cargo industry’s largest publication.

Quito’s international airport has also been recognized for the third consecutive year as the Best Regional Airport in South America, as well as the Best Airport Staff in South America and the 4-Star Airport Award at the most recent Skytrax Awards.

The highly-prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards are a global benchmark for excellence in the aviation industry, as they take into account the votes of over 13 million air travelers, based on their experience at 550 air terminals worldwide. It is the largest annual global survey of airport satisfaction.

As of April 13, the most important airline in Mexico, Aeromexico will operate a second flight with three new frequencies for the Quito-CDMX route. The result is 10 weekly flights and greater connectivity between Quito, Mexico and other key airports such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas and Miami.

We are proud to know that our customers and passengers consider the staff working in the companies and organizations at the airport to be the best on the continent – key to Quito winning the Best Airport in South America category,” said Andrew O’Brian, President and CEO of Quiport.

Meanwhile, at this year’s Air Cargo Excellence Awards, the airport was recognized with the Diamond award and the specialized Cargo Airport award. The specific evaluation parameters take into account the performance, facilities and value delivered. In all these areas, Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport stands out for its excellence.

“Quiport is permanently committed to improve our services, sensitive to the needs and expectations of our cargo partners and air passengers. Our commitment to tourism and economic development in Quito and Ecuador is stronger than ever,” affirms O’Brian.

These awards are the result of the hard work and passion that all the staff, the Quiport Corporation, municipal entities and private companies who form part of the capital’s air hub, put in, year after year, ranking it in the same category as other prestigious airports including Rome, Amsterdam, Houston, Heathrow and Frankfurt.
