The Day The Earth Shook

In April 2016, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the coast of Ecuador. It was the worst such quake for a generation, causing the loss of over 600 people. Ñan magazine followed the work of the scientists from Ecuador’s Instituto Geofisico and the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development in the days following the event, chronicling their attempt to rescue the data from their equipment and to begin to understand the behaviour of the tectonic movements along the Pacific Coast.
